In Mock Up on Mu, Baldwin envisions an alternate past with Hubbard, played on-screen by underground filmmaker Damon Packard, trying to build a resort on the moon called Mu. He enlists Cameron (Michelle Silva) to track down and enlist the help of an amnesiac Parsons (Kalman Spelletich), who apparently didn't die in that explosion after all, to build a fleet of spacecraft to rocket the rich and famous to the Mu resort. Set in 13 segments (as reflecting old serial television series such as Flash Gordon) and spiraling between New Age, Science Fiction, and film essay, Mock Up on Mu is a definitive celluloid dream, where tomorrow's landscapes and yesterday's pop culture merge to ask about today's technological morality, especially as concerns our funding of weapons developments over energy and others.
